Nehemiah Project R3 equips children and families throughout Greater Chattanooga, Southeast Tennessee and
North Georgia with practical resources, community support and hope. Through Backpack Chattanooga, Share a
Pair and community partnerships, we work to remove barriers, restore dignity and help families move forward
with confidence.
What an incredible start to the school year!Â
Thanks to the generosity of our community, we packed and distributed 12,000 backpacks to students in August 2026.Â
And now we have another need – we need UNDERWEAR!Â
→ We have NO stocks in Girls & Boys Size 6, and Girls Sizes 8, 10, and 12.
→ We are expanding to include middle and high school students and we need ADULT size underwear and sports bras.
→ Underwear is the most urgent need!

What comes in a backpack?
Every backpack is thoughtfully packed with age‑appropriate school supplies, including:
-24‑count box of CRAYOLA© crayons
-Two glue sticks
-Ruler
-Pencil sharpener
-One dozen No. 2 pencils
-Colored pencils
-Notebook paper
-Bible
More Than School Supplies
Nehemiah Project R3 represents more than backpacks – it is a shared expression of care from the community to its children. Through the combined efforts of volunteers, partners, and supporters, students are reminded they are seen, valued, and supported. This collective commitment strengthens families, schools, and neighborhoods, reinforcing the belief that when a community invests in its children, everyone benefits.
